About

Tax Talk (UK) was founded by Lisa Phipps in 2020.  During the Covid-19 pandemic and with MTD on the horizon for many more businesses, Lisa set about creating a series of bite sized toolkits as well as video guidance in order to support her clients to navigate the changes they faced.  It soon became clear that there was a wider need for support and so Tax Talk (UK) was founded in order to provide a single resource for those thinking of becoming self employed as well as those already established running small businesses.

Lisa initially worked in the banking sector and in 2003, she started her own business offering book keeping, payroll & general consultancy services. Lisa has been a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers since 2008 and was elected as a Fellow member in 2017.  Lisa has a substantial client base and extensive experience spanning many industries and varied business sectors.

Lisa initially started Tax Talk informally in order to provide guidance to her own clients. Her own practice runs at full capacity and is unable to take on new clients. It soon became clear that more people wanted this kind of guidance and other practices expressed interest in using the resources for their own clients and therefore Tax Talk (UK) was founded

Tax Talk (UK) is an independent resource, aimed at supporting the self employed, including private landlords, small businesses and limited companies defined as micro-entities.  We also aim to provide information for employees that employers can refer employees to.
